About The Trek

India's Most Beautiful
National Park

The Valley of Flowers is one of the most beautiful and mesmerising national parks in the country, situated at an altitude of 3,658 m in Bhyundar Valley in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.

It is famous for its incredible variety of flora β€” Alpine flowers, Vajardanti, Marsh Marigold, Shomalap, and rare Blue Poppies β€” along with fauna including Asiatic black deer, snow leopard, musk deer, red fox, brown bear, and blue sheep. It is part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Zone and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

There are about 529+ species of alpine plants, of which 498 are flowering plants. The valley changes its colours throughout the season β€” snowy white in June, vibrant blue in July, and blooming pink in August. The beauty of this valley cannot be captured by any camera β€” it can only be captured by your eyes and stored in your memory.

Another jewel of this region is Hemkund Sahib β€” situated at 4,328 m, it is the highest Gurudwara of the Sikh community in the world. Numerous waterfalls, dense forest, snow-capped Himalayas, and a sacred glacial lake make it an unforgettable spiritual destination.

Got Questions?

Answers to Your Most Common Questions

Yes, absolutely! The Valley of Flowers trek is rated Easy to Moderate and is one of the best treks for beginners. The trails are well-marked, and our guides walk at a comfortable pace. If you can walk 7–10 km in a day and have basic fitness, you are ready to go.
The Valley of Flowers opens from mid-June to mid-October. July and August are the ideal months when the valley is in its full bloom with maximum flower species. September is also great with fewer crowds and clearer skies. June has snow at higher elevations which is beautiful in its own way.
Your β‚Ή8,999 includes: pickup and drop from Dehradun/Rishikesh, hotel accommodation at Joshimath and Ghangaria (all nights), all vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, dinner every day), professional trek leader and guides, forest permits, Valley of Flowers entry, Hemkund Sahib trek, first-aid kits, oxymeters, and oxygen cylinders. Note: 5% GST is charged additionally.
Yes, since Valley of Flowers blooms during the monsoon season, light to moderate rain is common and completely normal. This rain is actually what makes the flowers bloom so beautifully! You should carry a good raincoat and waterproof shoes. The trek is completely safe during rainfall and our guides know exactly when to move.
Hemkund Sahib at 14,107 ft is the most challenging day of the trek. The climb is 6 km each way and takes 8–9 hours total. However, the path is well-made with stone steps, and thousands of elderly pilgrims do it every year. Our experienced guides will be with you at every step, and you can take as many breaks as needed.
You will stay in clean, sanitised hotels and guesthouses on a triple/quad sharing basis. At Joshimath (Days 1 and 5), you get comfortable hotel rooms. At Ghangaria (Days 2, 3, and 4), you stay in clean guesthouses β€” the options there are limited due to the remote location, but they are hygienic and well-maintained.
